Last couple of weeks I was too busy and I couldn’t spend much time on updating this Asian Blog. But I took a nice break by spending 4 holidays in Vietnam. Now, I know that Vietnam is not a preferred holiday destination for many of the westerners especially Americans. Also I thought, compared to the neighboring countries like Thailand, Malaysia or Indonesia there not many things Vietnam can advertise for a luxury holiday traveller. But I was wrong when I reached at Halong bay. This spectacularly beautiful gem is UNESCO protected national heritage area. You must see this to enjoy the beauty of Vietnam.
Halong bay which is situated around 170 km east of Hanoi, consists of a dense cluster of 1,969 limestone islands, each with dense plants and trees on top, which rise stunningly from the ocean. Many of the islands are hollow, with huge and beautiful caves. Some of the islands are occupied by fishermen who live in floating villages in the ocean. Take 2 days one night trip through Halong bay to enjoy this natural wonder. You will immediately fall in love with Vietnam. More pictures of Halong bay and Vietnam will be added in my next post.
